Hidden Tool Provides Query Information on a Single Screen

SAP NetWeaver BW has a little-known transaction called the query definition tool that provides a comprehensive view of any query. Discover where to find this tool and how to use it to your advantage.
Key Concept
The query definition tool provides one place to view all relevant details about a query without going into BEx Query Designer. The tool enables you to view the details of the query on one screen, rather than having to view the details over several BEx Query Designer and Query Monitor screens. The query definition tool offers a good place to troubleshoot, analyze, or document queries.

Typically, if you want to view all the data for a query, you have to go to several screens in BEx Query Designer. You then must also gather data from the Query Monitor (transaction RSRT). However, you can use the query definition tool instead to view these details on just one screen.

The query definition tool is available only on SAP NetWeaver BW 7.x. I’ll show you where to find this tool and provide tips for using it.
