Learn how users can help designers during Xcelsius dashboard development.

If you’re a BusinessObjects user, a good self-exercise to complete before requesting a new dashboard – or any other tool, for that matter – is a matrix that scopes out what exact business requirements or key performance indicators (KPIs) the project will address.

Doing so may, in fact, result in users determining they need less KPIs than originally thought, said Mico Yuk, executive director at Benchmarkers, a consulting company that focuses on dashboard reporting techniques. After completing a matrix, users often say, “I don’t need this,” added Yuk, who spoke at the 2011 SAP Sapphire Now and ASUG Annual Conferences.
