Learn how to change the start and end dates of objects in Organizational Management without creating data inconsistencies. You can correct objects created with wrong start or end dates.
Key Concept
In Organizational Management an object comes into existence only when infotype 1000 (object) is created. After it is created, you can create other infotypes for the object. When you maintain these infotypes (including infotype 1000) there may be times when the start and end dates are entered incorrectly, or you may need to change them because of business requirements.

You can change the start date and end dates for objects in Organizational Management (OM) directly from the PP01, PP02, PPOME, or POxx screens for most infotypes, with the exception of infotype 1000.

To change the start and end dates for infotype 1000, you need to execute one of two available reports. One changes the start date and the other changes the end date. You can also use these reports to change the start and end dates for all other infotypes of objects in OM. Some of the key features of these reports are not well documented, and many users are unaware of their existence.
