Create an E-Learning Course that Challenges Advanced Users

Make your e-learning more appealing for experienced users by challenging them to complete the course themselves, instead of simply following instructions by rote.

Making e-learning lively and more attractive is definitely a challenge. In a typical simulation-based course, end users go through steps of a recorded scenario. In each step, they would click a button, enter data, or press a key on the keyboard in order to move forward to the next step. For beginners, this type of e-learning should serve the purpose well as they learn the process step by step. However, for advanced end users, the steps can be quite monotonous, especially if the simulation is long.

I suggest that you develop e-learning material that challenges advanced end users by letting them complete the material themselves. End users are provided with a set of screenshots, actions, and questions to put together and complete the exercise. I explain the methodology behind this e-learning method and show a complete example.
