You successfully upgraded your Oracle database from an older version to the newest version, but your Oracle client did not upgrade automatically during the Oracle upgrade. You can easily upgrade the version of Oracle Client on Microsoft Windows servers with the help of this step-by-step guide.

When you install SAP software on an Oracle database or upgrade your Oracle database then you have to manually update the Oracle client version after the installation/upgrade of Oracle software. If the Oracle database is still running with the old Oracle client on the Microsoft Windows server, then you can follow the steps in this article to upgrade the Oracle client from the old to a new version.
